Vancouver Island, British Columbia
Vancouver Island is the largest island on the North American west coast, with 2,136 miles (3,440 km) of coastline, most of it only accessible from a liveaboard dive boat. The invertebrate life is stunningly thick on the reefs & walls, and the kelp beds are aquatic versions of rain-forests.
Getting to Vancouver Island and diving the often turbulent and always chilly 47° (8°C) water isn't easy, to say the least. Cold water diving experience and the right equipment is essential.

If you are doing underwater photography, having the right photo gear is equally important. These images were all taken with a Nikon D200 DSLR, Aquatica housing, and dual Inon Z240 strobes.
